What is the Sensory Profile™ 2
The Sensory Profile™ 2, created by Dr. Winnie Dunn, is a questionnaire that helps us understand how your child processes sensory information—like sounds, touch, movement, and more.
It looks at everyday behaviors and how your child responds to different sensory experiences at home, in school, and in the community. By identifying patterns such as seeking, avoiding, sensitivity, or low registration, we can better understand your child's needs.
There are different versions for infants, toddlers, and school-aged children. You, and sometimes your child’s teacher, will complete the forms.
Why it’s helpful:
-
Gives insight into your child’s behavior
-
Helps explain challenges with focus, routines, or emotional responses
-
Guides strategies to support your child’s daily life at home and school
It's a supportive tool we use to create a plan that works for your child—not a test or diagnosis.
